Your feelings are data

Let's say you line up a 1099 project that offers you more money and flexibility.

Pay attention to how you feel.

Are you super excited and happy? Great!

Now how do you feel after six months or a year into the gig?

Bored? About the same as before you took your gig?

This is a sign that maybe something else in your life needs to change, unrelated to your work.

It's important to pay attention to your feelings. They are a data point that will help you decide what to do, or not to do next.

You may not always interpret the data correctly. Perhaps you thought more money would make you happier when in fact, it only helped a little bit.

Maybe you need to focus on your relationships or hobbies.

But over time your data collection and data interpretation skills will improve, and you will get a better sense of what moves you need to make next.
