You don't need to do everything you're asked
A potential prime I'm in discussions with asked for a "capability statement" for my company.
A capability statement is like a resume for your company saying what you can do.
I've never done one just because of...laziness for the most part.
When the prime asked for one I told him, "hey I don't have one written up right this second but below is a brief description of what my company offers. Is that a dealbreaker to moving forward?"
The prime said it was no big deal and we had our phone call.
This happens a lot in the government contracting world, even as a 1099.
You get asked for stuff by the prime just because it's part of their checklist, even when it's not necessary.
So if you get an ask that you don't want to do or seems unnecessary, just see if you can not do it.
