What I learned from Happy Hour with the PM

Generated by DALL·E

I set up a happy hour with the PM on my current contract.

I didn't have much of an agenda. I wanted to establish a good relationship.

BUT, here's what I learned:

  • The previous PM was basically fired (juicy drama)
  • The relationship between the prime and the other subs have some tensions (opportunity for me to make my company stand out)
  • Two of the government clients are frenemies (more juicy drama)
  • One government client is interested in AI but not sure how to think or use about (opportunity for me to talk to the client about it)
  • PM has a candidate he would hire onto the program, but his company wouldn't hire since he didn't look good on paper. I might have the opportunity to do so (another opportunity)

You can learn a lot from an in-person meet up or happy hour, and help grow your business or find another 1099 gig.
