Same skills, higher bill rate

Your 1099 market rate is not set in stone.

You can take the same skills from one contract to another and get a big pay bump.

I had a 1099 offer as a data analyst for $132/hour with one agency. Then I had another offer for $160/hour for very similar type of data analyst work at another agency.

Some contracts are negotiated more aggressively by the primes or a structured in a way where they can be more flexible with how much they pay their sub-contractors.

So if you're not satisfied with your current billable rate, build your network and see what other contracts offer.

Without upgrading your skills, you could make a lot more than you currently do.
