Reminder: Evidence > feelings
There's a lot of articles out there about impostor syndrome, which is basically the feeling that you're fooling everyone professionally and that you will eventually be exposed and fired.
If you're considering making the transition to become a 1099, you may become overwhelmed by impostor syndrome and never make the move, even though it could benefit your life.
So, if you're battling with that, look for evidence instead of your feelings.
- Have clients praised your work?
- Has your boss praised your work?
- Have you received promotions?
- Have you received raises/bonuses?
- Do you regularly get job offers from other companies?
If the answer is yes to most of these, you can go 1099. You are not an impostor.
Evidence trumps feelings when deciding whether you're "good enough" to go 1099.
