Personality as an asset
One of the nice parts about going 1099 is that you can be yourself and not have the pressure of conforming to a corporate culture.
Because you're a bit of an oddball to a prime, they don't particularly care that you have your quirks as long as you're delivering for the client.
I also find that government clients find it refreshing. There are so many contractor drones running around trying to impress them that anyone with a semblance of authenticty has an inherent advantage in the client relationship.
You may find your personality clashes with a few characters. That's okay. Don't force it. Just find another project if the clash becomes too serious.
Be yourself.
