I used AI in my last e-mail

In my e-mail yesterday about scripts, I used AI (ChatGPT) for two purposes:

  • To help generate an image for the e-mail
  • To help create a good subject line

I was very impressed with the subject line, considering we went from "1099 scripts" to "Practical Prep: Scripts for 1099 Scenarios."

I am horrible at writing subject lines and headlines so this was incredibly helpful.

The images were good, but it still had typos for the text and it took me a while to get the right "vibe" I wanted.

ChatGPT doesn't allow sharing of image GPTs.

Two lessons:

  • This will be very powerful (obvious, covered by media)
  • You can use this to get ahead with your 1099 career

I have made lots of money being slightly better at Excel and Tableau with my government clients. This is old technology.

By implementing AI tools to augment your work, you will be wayyyy ahead of most of your government peers.

Be cautious about uploading government data, but be liberal about using it to get better or faster at generic tasks.
