When to leave money on the table
Money isn't everything. Here are some situations where leaving some money on the table is totally worth it:
- Leaving a lucrative project because the client or team is sucky
- Taking extra vacation time
- Taking time for personal hobbies or side projects
- Leaving a project because it's too boring
- Not taking a project because the commute is terrible
- Leaving work early to take a nap
- Leaving work early for an impromptu date with your spouse
What would be worth giving up a few bucks in billable revenue for? I'd love to know.
