A 1099 Perk: Take Fridays Off

A few Fridays ago I drove into work (the client site).

I got to my desk, logged in, and noticed the office was almost completely dead.

So I logged out and left to enjoy the beautiful weather and hang out with my wife.

As a 1099 you don't have to ask a boss permission to take an an impromptu day off.

Sure, you might not get paid if you're on a time and materials contract, but I have never regretted blowing off work and creating a three day weekend for myself.

And guess what, I decided to do the same thing today.

Have a good weekend!

I wrote a book about becoming a 1099 solo federal sub-contractor. I write about  the benefits (and risks) of going 1099.
